TResearch magazine – for Teagasc
TResearch is a long-running quarterly magazine produced for Teagasc, the Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority, reporting on the organisation’s broad research programme. In 2021, we transformed it from a scientific journal-style publication into an engaging and audience-friendly magazine.
Artful Dog’s management of TResearch is steered by two main currents: being faithful to the contribution of the original authors and maintaining their scientific/academic standards while adding newsstand values – a human voice, feature-style editorial, variety of pace, punchy headlines and digestible information to catch the eye. We want readers to consider TResearch as a magazine they read for enjoyment that is also useful in their work.
Through careful subediting and design, and working closely with contributors, TResearch balances scientific rigour and reader-friendly content on topics such as sustainability and climate action, agriculture, food safety, animal performance, framing best practice and water quality. Academic reports are turned into engaging articles, alongside infographics and interview features, covering innovative research projects, industry trends, people-oriented team profiles and upcoming events.
In addition, we edit and design Teagasc’s annual TResearch Impact Report. This supplement highlights the impact and effects of ongoing or completed research by Teagasc staff, presented in the same visually and verbally engaging manner as TResearch.
