Newswriting training for internal comms teams
We have provided news-writing training for agency and in-house internal comms teams, covering how to write stories and create content that will engage employees.
Our training covers:
> the foundations of good journalism – how to structure stories and features; attention-grabbing intros
> ideas and ways to make dry or technical topics or repeated messages more engaging and inspiring: format, language, tone
> article format ideas
> interview techniques and use of quotes
> sub-editing
> headlines, standfirsts and captions
> editing and evolving publications
> proofreading
The training aims to provide tips and ideas so that agency writers and IC teams can report news stories and convey key messages in memorable, authentic and meaningful ways. We believe internal news stories should be of the same quality and have as much impact as anything you’d read as a consumer.
Courses are virtual or in-person (at your office or at ours, in Oval, London) and can last from two hours to a full day. The training can be useful for colleagues new to internal communication or near the start of their career in journalism, and also for more experienced internal comms professionals looking for a refresher on any of the above topics. We can tailor the content to suit your needs and your team’s level of experience.
